Kendall Lewis Music Analyst - Notoriety "See that's exactly why I'm praying..." JWherry - Truce (Produced by NinetySevenBeats) Citizens scattered throughout the tough, blue-collared territory of Alabama finally have something besides college football to feel inspired about. For years, the weekly traditions held in Tuscaloosa and Toomer's Corner in Auburn have given the natives optimism. That only provides a huge spark for 6 months, and then life goes back to normal throughout the state for the rest of the year. The rap scene isn't prominent in Alabama, but it's slowly taken off since the start of the decade. Yelawolf is one of the first to get it started in recent memory. After releasing the highly acclaimed Trunk Muzik mixtape and becoming a XXL Freshman, the underground rapper signed to Shady/Interscope Records in 2011. Doe-B was an MC from Montgomery, who used his skills behind the mic to make a way out. Word got out about him, and ...

Did I Lose You?

Kendall Lewis Sports Writer/Music Analyst - Notoriety This is a world-class evaluation of where LeBron James stands in his career with an assist from lyrics off of Drake's song Lose You, courtesy of the More Life Playlist: "I'm in for the glory not the honor mention. Not trying to be fourth for inches, I'm tryna go the distance. Yeah, distance, I'm on a different mission." The 32 year old veteran is at a crossroads in his career right now. The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a steep uphill battle for control of first place in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs are certainly defending champions, but defending that honor has been far from easy this season. Contenders around the NBA collected premier free agents in the offseason, and also acquired veterans during the midseason trade deadline period. Teams like Golden State, San Antonio, Boston, Washington, Toronto and others are aware that the time to defeat LeBron is now. However, in order...

Wake Up.

Kendall Lewis Music Analyst - Notoriety CENTER STAGE J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film Directed by Jermaine Cole and Scott Lazer It's hard for regular people to actually vibe to what rappers are saying these days. The industry is filled with one-hit wonders, overnight celebrities and negative influences. However, this isn't the case for one of the best in the game. J. Cole is 32 years old now, but the veteran isn't just a rapper anymore. He's living in the same world that everyone else, but his mindset and mentality are on another spectrum. Instead of just aimlessly wondering in music like others are, he's using lyrics to simply ask people to WAKE UP . "This albums goal is to humanize the people that have been villianized in the media." - Cole 4 Your Eyez Only, released December 2016, was highly anticipated album everyone was waiting for. The follow-up project was brilliant, and definitely helped people close out a r...

Kendall Lewis Music Analyst - Notoriety Austin, TX - The rap game in the state of Texas simply isn't what it used to be. There was a point in time when people couldn't turn on the TV without seeing music videos from Texas artists being played throughout the day. Legends like UGK, Z-Ro, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Chamillionaire and countless others aren't in the headlines anymore. Atlanta's holding it down, thanks to an epic threshold ushering in a new wave for millennial listeners. California and New York are always holding it down, period. The Miami-Dade area is constantly producing chart-topping hits, and people are riding around banging the material from Memphis in their trunks. However, there's still some hope for the Lone Star State. Travis Scott, Post Malone and the Sauce Twinz are definitely doing their thing; but something's missing. When people ponder about the music scene in Texas, Houston's always the first thoug...

Kendall Lewis Music Analyst - Notoriety It's 2017, and sh*t in society is starting to hit the fan. Hello, My name is Kendall Lewis, and I'm sitting here writing an introductory statement to anyone out there that's reading this. For years, I've aimlessly wandered this planet wondering what I'm going to do to keep surviving in this world. I'm 25 years old, and I recently stopped going to school during my senior year in college. A lot of people don't understand, and are confused because I only had 3 classes left before I graduate. I finally found out how Drake felt when he said "I dropped out right before I graduate, 6 credits left my momma had the saddest day. It's only up from here, I promise you just gotta wait... and she took my word for it, that's all I had to say. Lately I just feel so outta character, the paranoia could start to turn into arrogance. Thoughts too deep to go work 'em out with a therapist...
